Every Charles Haynes sculpture is produced as a limited edition, ensuring each work retains a sense of exclusivity, rarity and collectability. From the initial concept through to the finished piece, Charles is committed to the highest standards of material, design and craftsmanship.

The creation of each sculpture is an intensely detailed and time-consuming process. Charles begins by personally developing each work, from the initial drawings through to modelling the form by hand in clay. He then works closely with his specialist foundry, overseeing the many stages required to transform the original model into a finished sculpture.

A single sculpture can take up to four months to produce, with numerous highly skilled processes involved. These include mould making, wax preparation, the creation of ceramic moulds, casting and pouring of the metal, fabrication, finishing and polishing. Each stage requires precision, patience and experience, with careful attention paid to every surface and detail.

The final polishing is particularly demanding. Achieving the distinctive, highly refined finish associated with Charles’s work is an exceptionally labour-intensive process, requiring specialist knowledge and elite craftsmanship. The surface is painstakingly worked to achieve a flawless finish, with every imperfection carefully identified and removed.

Charles’s sculptures are collected internationally, and the same attention to detail extends to their transportation and presentation. Each individual sculpture is supplied in a bespoke wooden shipping crate, specially designed and constructed to protect the work during its journey. The crate is made specifically for the individual sculpture, providing security while reflecting the care and consideration invested in the artwork itself.
