Charles Haynes
Contemporary Sculptor

Charles Haynes creates work grounded in personal observation and lived experience. For him, everything begins with drawing, an intuitive process where thoughts become lines, and lines evolve into form. His practice moves fluidly between abstraction and figuration, exploring the tension and harmony between the two. Learn more >

Exhibiting:  Cupola - Sculpture (Patinated Bronze) 2024

Cupola is a cornerstone of CH’s first works. This bronze sculpture reimagines the Yorkshire Wolds through a contemporary sculptural lens. With its gentle curves, Cupola captures the intersecting lines of field boundaries, the geometric rhythms of the land, and the vast openness of the sky.

The piece reflects the enduring beauty of the natural landscape, interpreted through a modern aesthetic. The deliberate use of patinated bronze not only echoes the tones of the environment but also invites viewers to experience bronze as a vibrant and multifaceted material.

As part of CH’s first series, Cupola stands as an iconic work that helped define his sculptural career. Learn More>
